Tyler Auville Accident: 34-Year-Old Newport Man Dies After 1965 Ford Mustang Crash on State Route 7 in Ohio
The Newport, Ohio, community is mourning the loss of Tyler R. Auville, who died after a serious single-vehicle crash on State Route 7 in Washington County.
Auville, 34, of Newport, was driving a 1965 Ford Mustang when the vehicle left the roadway in Ohio Township on Saturday night, August 22, 2026. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Mustang went off State Route 7, struck an embankment and overturned.
The crash happened shortly after 10:30 p.m., prompting emergency crews to respond to the scene. Auville had to be extracted from the wreckage before being transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital Marietta Campus for medical treatment.
Despite efforts to save him, Auville later died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Authorities reported that Auville was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Investigators also said alcohol is suspected to have been a contributing factor, although the investigation remains ongoing.
